Camp Jinka is a free summer day program offered by the David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Center to kids and teens whose lives have been impacted by a loved one's diagnosis of a brain tumor. Children attending camp have a loved one that is battling a brain tumor or has passed away from one. This unique camp offers creative indoor and outdoor activities while encouraging expression and connection with others having a similar life experience.
This summer children gathered who have parents fighting a brain tumor or other cancers. Some have lost a parent, some are survivors themselves. All contributed to what became a very powerful experience for the children, staff, volunteers and extended families. The camp was a collaboration between the David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Center at Monmouth Medical Center, The Jinka Foundation, Middletown Arts Center and Poricy Park.
This year Camp Jinka will be four weeks long instead of two! Mark your calendars.
